Veteran high-technology business leader Ali Foughi holds 28 years of professional experience and has a proven track record of transforming underperforming business units into lucrative entities. Mr. Foughi is also noted for his ability to build a successful product line, with innovative and disruptive products, from ground up to take #1 global market share.
Ali Foughi attended the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and graduated with highest honors. While at WPI, Ali joined the LTX Corporation in Westwood, Massachusetts as a member of their Co-operative program. His design contributions, including a system VI board and high-performance analog filters, led to his recruitment to remain at LTX after graduation. As a Senior Analog System Designer, Mr. Foughi designed high-performance instrumentation for automatic test systems and broke new ground with his introduction of the industry’s highest performing programmable analog filters. He remained at LTX for approximately 10 years, and in 1993 he relocated to Sunnyvale, California to take a creative position defining next-generation products at Maxim Integrated Products, a company that designs, manufactures, and distributes high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductor products.
Over the course of his career at Maxim, which spanned nearly two decades, Mr. Foughi served in several different positions and capacities. In 2006, the company’s founder, Jack Gifford, promoted Ali Foughi to Business Unit Head due to his exemplary performance, before advancing to Vice President and General Manager. Among his many contributions, Ali led and expanded Maxim’s position as the global leader in optical transceivers. Mr. Foughi was also responsible for the acquisition of a successful U.K.-based high-growth start-up.
Aside from his professional obligations, Ali Foughi is passionate about helping underprivileged children and families overcome adversity and enabling them to achieve personal success.
